In this week’s media segment, Chaffey College faculty and staff discuss the meaning of student success in a learning college with Dr. Terry O’Banion, President Emeritus of the League for Innovation in the Community College. They reflect on the difference between a college that focuses on learning and one that focuses on achievement.

Based on their conversation and on your readings this week, you will discuss the meaning of these commonly used terms with your colleagues: student-centered, learner-centered, learning-centered, and success-centered. Is there a difference among them? If so, what is it? How would you describe the college or university where you work or the one you attended as an undergraduate?

By Day 3

Post your interpretation of the terms listed above by using them to describe an actual institution (the one where you currently work or another with which you are familiar). Provide specific examples of how your college or university is centered around students, learners, learning, or success.
